The National Capital Council is one of the larger councils in the Navy League. We have uniquely high corporate membership from businesses -- large and small -- who share our interest in and dedication to the success of our maritime services. We have been recognized as one of the outstanding councils in the Navy League for many years.

We support 10 Naval Ships and Air Wings, 14 Naval shore stations and activities, 5 Navy Sea Cadet units and several NJROTC units.

Our standing committees include:

• Sea-Air-Space (Our largest and busiest committee)
• Adopted Ships (Assistance outreach to mariners and marines)
• Sea Cadets/NJROTC (Developing youth for the future)
• Annual "Sea Service Award" (Presented to a member of congress who has been consistently supportive of the sea services)
• SECNAV Cruise (One of our most recognized events to get industry and Naval leaders together for an enjoyable evening)
• Various committees dedicated to the support of the USCG, USMC, and U.S.-flag Merchant Marine
